Targa Newfoundland 2017

Team Hume at Targa 2015

Hello to everyone from Team Hume

We are well underway with plans and preparations for this year’s Targa Newfoundland road rally, Hume’s initiative for MS research.

We have entered four team cars: Two classic oldie but goodie E46 BMW M3s in Targa Modern Class and two Hot Hatch MINI racing GPs in the Targa GTE Class. Just to add a bit of drama, John Sr. is new to the Modern (go real fast) division. And to add some mystique we have two new racing members, crewing our 2006 MINI GP – Norm Haas driving and Christina Kroner co-piloting.

Our returning veteran racers are John Jr. teamed with Justin Crant in the 2004 M3, John Sr. with Ron Bartleet in the new to racing 2002 M3, Craig MacMullen with Nicole Troster in the 2013 MINI GP.

We have a strong team put together this year. And the newbies are keen to race!

In addition we have added one extra mechanic this year. Alex Walsh will join Garret Nalepka as our mechanic. Both are generously loaned to us from Centennial College. Without them at our side we would not be able to do this event. We very much appreciate Centennial College’s support of our Drive.

The event takes place as usual in Newfoundland, September 13th to 18th. During the week of excitement we will be posting daily update blogs – follow us by logging onto our website.

Several key donors have so far stepped up to the plate and we already stand at $9,200 in pledged MS research dollars.

Anyone wishing to donate to MS research may do so online via our website. You will receive a tax receipt from MS by end of September for every dollar you donate.

All for now,
John Hume.
